The 257 Bee is finally together. Been a long time coming. $349 (on sale) Academy donor rifle (SPS ADL). Brux #3 1-10" twist installed by Mickey Coleman and cut to 24". Jewell Trigger. McMillan Classic 70% black/30% yellow. Mickey had the barrel screwed on in February, stock ordered on 12/17 through Rick and arrived yesterday. Weight with Ltwt Talleys and Zeiss Conquest 3-9 is 8 lbs 9 ozs. A little heavier than I like, but it feels good to the shoulder. Can't wait to shoot it.

Unlike many, I would guess, I dig an 8#-9#er all up. And I have a yellow and black Swirley coming in however long it takes for McM to get it to me. I love this rifle. Way cool.

Just looked at my PM's and I bought the Brux in October 2012 for this project. Wow.

That's no Bumblebee, it's a KillerBee!

That ain't no Bumblebee... No I would agree. Goth Bee, perhaps? I dig the rifle, though I would have left the barrel a little longer, but I'm kind of a freak that way.

I'm with you, I can't find much love for a 24" tube either.

I guess 100 TSX and TTSX. I've got a barrel-load of them somewhere. LOL. We moved last November and I'm still not reloading yet. And our last PC went down, so no Quickload for now. But got plenty of Rel 22. So that will be my powder of choice. That or IMR 4831.

Believe it or not, I had better luck with r25 & the ttsx, although I am confident I could make 22 work, I have no doubts you will to.

Nice! Making me feel better about my McMillan order too - I placed mine for 2 pre-64 model 70 stocks in November and still waiting.
Also, Steve if you get too tired of the weight, remember that Brux will flute a number 3 - I've got 4 or 5 of them and they are the best shooting rifles I have.

Thanks Joe. I think it'll be fine. I've been building too many ultralights anyway.
